Dutasteride (Avodart / Avolve)

Dutasteride (Avodart / Avolve)

As with the favourably recognized product Finasteride (Proscar), Dutasteride prevents testosterone becoming DHT by blocking two forms of the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase. This is different to Proscar or Propecia, which targets just one form of the enzyme. Dutastaride has been shown to decrease levels of DHT by 90% after only two weeks! Making it a more powerful weapon against BPH and hair loss than Proscar or Propecia. DHT has links to male pattern hair loss, prostate enlargement, acne and decreasing the number of visible hairs.

Dutasteride is prescribed for Benign Prostate Hypertrophy (BPH) – a condition affected by levels of DHT. It is approved in Europe and by the FDA for BPH.

In human trials into men’s hair loss over a 24 week period Dutasteride (0.5 mg) was found to be 33% more effective than Finasteride (5 mg). Maximum effects were seen with Dutasteride at a dose of 2.5 mg.

Dutasteride should not be used or even handled by women and children.

Men treated with Dutasteride should not donate blood for at least six months after their final dose.

All other precautions and conditions apply.
