Chronic fatigue, tiredness and low energy plague millions of people in the Western World and are the most common reasons which lead people to seek medical care. Various factors include vitamin/mineral deficiency, food intolerances, blood sugar disorders, depression, thyroid problems, insomnia and stress. RDA’s are a problem. The general lowering of the already modest RDA levels have been based on the ‘judgement’ that Americans are a basically healthy people, and since they fail to consume earlier higher RDA’s of most nutrients, lower RDA’s are more appropriate!! To assume Americans are healthy because they do not suffer classic nutritional deficiency diseases is ludicrous. One seventh of the total national income is spent on health/disease care. Half the adult population is obese; tens of millions are diabetic or have asthma, allergies, arthritis, ulcers, insomnia, depression etc. the list is exhaustive. RDA’s were never formulated for optimal health but are merely intended to keep a person healthy enough to avoid the likes of scurvy (a disease our ancestral British forefathers eradicated 200 years ago)!!

Another area of importance is that of metabolic enhancers that are normal dietary constituents, absolutely essential for life, which are vitamin-like nutrients are made within the body.
